Here is where I will display some of my work I do in my history class. World history has always been one of my favorite subjects in school and I think it is very interesting. History is part of the two period class called Core which consists of both English and History so a lot of work we do counts toward both grades. This year we will be studying everywhere from ancient Rome, to British colonization in America. I am excited about everything there is to learn this year in history.

Ancient Africa Simulation

In our Core class we have these things called simulations where each person in the class plays the role of a specific person from the period of history we are studying in order for us to understand what we are studying better. They are usually pretty fun and they really give us a better picture of what was going on in that certain part of history.
In this picture we are doing one about our unit on the ancient kingdoms of West Africa. What is happening is a trade process called silent barter. The people from the north would bring down salt and leave however much they wanted to trade at the river bank then go miles back. Then the gold miners from the south would come up to see how much salt was left and to see how much gold the salt miners wanted in return for the salt. If they agreed with the deal then they would leave the amount of gold the salt miners asked for, take their salt, and leave. Of course if not, then this process would keep on repeating itself until the two groups could come to an agreement about their trade.
