I am very happy that it is the end of the year. There are only nine days of school left including today! In most of my classes we are pretty much done doing a lot of heavy work, but there are a few classes that I think might be stressful until the end of the year. Those are Core and Computers because in both of those classes we are still working on projects. Other than that I am finally starting to feel like it is the end of the year.  One reason for this is all of the upcoming end of the year events for school that are going on

There are a lot of really fun things happening around school until the end of the year. The first thing, which already passed, was Formal or the Evening Dance. That was a lot of fun because I got to hang out with my friends and take pictures and stuff. i am also really excited for Wild Waters day next Friday.  We get to go to The water park which is always a lot of fun. I got to go there last year too with my school so I know it will be fun. Finally there is the last week of school which is always fun because there usually isn't a whole lot going on except signing year-books and all that stuff. The best part is that I get out a day before the eighth graders because they have promotion! I am really excited for the end of school and then Summer.

Tonight is our school's formal dance, or the evening dance as we are supposed to call it. Hopefully it will be a lot of fun.  I was a little bit worried because none of my friends were going to be able to go, but then one of them decided to go a few days ago. That is pretty much what made me decide I wanted to go. A lot of my other friends aren't going though because of a German class field trip to San Francisco which just happened to be on the same day as the dance.

This year the theme of the dance is "Under the Sea" which sounds fun. It will be fun because you can take pictures with your friends, have fun dancing with your friends, and there is free food! I can't wait for the dance tonight.

The Zoo Project is a project that we have been working on in computers.  Each group has a different animal that we have to do research on, and next Tuesday all of the seventh graders get to go to the zoo.  This project has been pretty hard, and somewhat stressful because there is so much that we have to do.  I really can't wait for it to be over, but going to the zoo should be a lot of fun.

This project started about  month ago when we had to do some research in science on an assigned animal in four different sections: classification, adaptations, reproduction, and human interactions.  My group was assigned the Keel-billed Toucan. After all the research, we went to computers where we started out websites for our animals. There were a lot of things that we had to do such as a presentation, quiz, word cloud, QR code, multiple multimedia projects, and a lot of other things. Now we are just about done with the projects, and the websites are looking really good. Now we just have to go to the zoo!

1. Geometry

2. Some elective that I don't want to get stuck with because none of the ones I want to do fit in my schedule

3. Core

4. Core

5. Computers

6. Science

7. French 2

8. Aquatics P.E.

I am very upset because all year I have been looking forward to signing up for leadership next year, but I recently realized that it will not fit into my schedule.  I don't even know if my other elective for next year, French 2, will fit my schedule.  First of all, leadership will not work because I will have to have geometry either first or second period, and Aquatics P.E. is eighth period.  That leaves the blocks of 3/4 and 5/6 period open for Core and Computers/Science which have to be together.  So I can't do leadership because I need to have Core or Computers/Science open during sixth period, and leadership is sixth period.

Because I need to have either Core or Computers/Science during 5/6 period, it means that the only time I can have French 2 is during 7th period.  Well that means that I would not be able to orchestra because that is also during 7th period.  I need to be ale to do French though because it is a high school class.

Today is my last swim meet of the season.  I am really excited because we swam against this school earlier in the year, and there are some people that I really want to beat in the 50 breaststroke today.  That is my main event, but lately I haven't been in the pool as much because of volleyball.  This means that I am not as fast as I was earlier in the season.   Luckily I was able to swim the whole practice yesterday, so I hope that that helps me today.

I know that I am doing the 50 breaststroke already because that is the event that I chose, but I don't know what my other event will be.  I really hope I either get to do the 50 backstroke or 50 freestyle or something because those are easier, and I want as much energy as possible for My 50 breaststroke.  I really hope I do good today for the last meet!

Yesterday I started tryouts for a new sport at school.  It is boys volleyball. I am really excited for volleyball because I have never played volleyball on a team before, but I have wanted to for a long time.  My dad has taught me and my sisters how to play volleyball a lot because he used to coach women's volleyball at Fresno Pacific University.  It should be a lot of fun!

Tryouts were really fun.  I am happy because nobody at the seventh grade tryouts is getting cut because only eight people showed up.  We are all on the team, and will all have lots of playing time!  Our team might not be great because I don't think anyone has had much experience, but I will definitely be fun.  Mr. Pearson should be a good coach, and it seems like we will  be pretty laid back, at least for now.  I am very excited for boy's volleyball!

I am very excited because tomorrow I get to go to the beach.  It should be a lot of fun because I have wanted to go to the beach for a long time now.  The reason I get to go is because me and my friend's mom are friends and they are going to the beach together for a day.  Me and my friend decided to ask if they would bring us along too and they said we could go.  So I am really happy because I also haven't seen my friend in a long time because after sixth grade we went to different schools.

I think we are going to the central coast near Cambria, which is a place that I really like to go to. My favorite beach over there is called moonstone beach. I like that beach because you can actually find moonstone on the beach, and I have always really liked collecting rocks. Another thing I like about Cambria is all the little shops and restaurants. There is a pizza place that my family likes to go to after a long day at the beach. I can't wait for tomorrow!

It has been kind of a stressful week, and I think it is going to be a rather stressful weekend too.  This is because of my many projects that I have due this week and next week.  I have a very bad habit of waiting until the very last minute to do projects.  On certain days that I have long term assignments due the next day, I tend to be up very late at night finishing them, and stressing out.  This is mainly because of my procrastinating, but also because I am a perfectionist, and I can't make a mistake.  I don't know why I let this happen time after time, but I do, and it's not good.

Today I had a French project due, and I did it last night.  I actually probably did the best job I have done before on a project that was last minute.  I was able to finish it pretty early, and I would have to say I did a pretty good job, so I think I will get an alright grade.  But now I have to worry about my math project that is due on Monday.  I have yet to start it, but I think it will be pretty easy.  Then next Friday I have another French project due which I need to do too.  So I think I can do alright as long as I get those two things done over the weekend.

Since the beginning of third quarter, after winter break, my aquatics P.E. class has been doing swim.  It has been a lot of fun, but also challenging and tiring.  Right now we are mainly working on backstroke and butterfly, and we already learned freestyle and breaststroke.  Butterfly is by far my worst stroke, and it takes a long time to learn how to do.  My best stroke is definitely breaststroke.  This stroke just kind of came naturally to me and I am pretty good at it.  We are also working on flip turns and other types of turns for other strokes.  These are pretty hard to become good at, but I have fun practicing them.  One last thing we worked on was relay turns.

Today we get to use all of these skills in our first meet.  It is just an intersquad meet so we are the only school, and it is mainly just to show us how a normal meet runs.  Nevertheless it is still like a meet and I am kinda scared because it is my first.  Our coach told me that we each are going to have four events: two individual races, and two relays.  I'm pretty sure I will get the 50 breaststroke, but other than that I am not sure.  I don't really care as long as I don't have to do butterfly.  I am very excited about his and it should be a lot of fun.
