This weekend we get three days off from school which will be very relaxing.  I am excited because this week has been very long and tiring, so I will enjoy sleeping in and not really having much to do.  This last weekend was also three days long, and when there is a three day weekend there is no late start, which means we don't get to sleep in on Thursday.  We also have the next Monday off, which means we have three three day weekends in a row.

I love having three day weekends because they really make the weeks feel shorter, and give you a chance to catch up on a work that you need to do. That is mostly what I will be doing this weekend is homework because having Monday off gives me a good chance to do it. I am not excited about having to do homework, but at least I have the time to do it! Hopefully this weekend will be a good chance to relax, but also get some work done.

Last night I got to go to Boomers with all the rest of the students at my school who got a GPA of 3.5 or higher.  There were tons of people there, and it was pretty fun.  I had fun hanging out with all my friends even though I didn't really do anything.  Pretty much all my friends were there and I found myself hanging out with a bunch of different people at different times.  One reason this ended up happening was because a lot of my friends were in line to race on the bumper cars.  I didn't really want to do that because the line was very long, and most people were waiting there for a long time.  I did not want to do that and waste my time.

There were a lot of other things to do other than the bumper cars though.  Outside a lot of people also did mini golf, which is a lot of fun.  There were things to do inside too.  We could play laser tag, which I never did because the line was also very long for that.  Also there were all the racing games and other games available.  I played those a little bit, but overall I spent most of my time just walking around, having a good time with my friends.

Today in our science class we are putting on a puppet show with different puppets of animals that Mr. Kirste assigned us to.  It is designed to explain the class the different adaptations of each animal.  My animal is the field cricket.  It has some cool adaptations such as being able to rub its wings together to make the humming sound, which is its' mating call.  Also, they eat almost anything which helps them because they don't have to put themselves in danger to find food.  Another trait that helps the filed cricket survive is its' color.  They have a very dark coloration, which is helpful to them because it helps them camouflage.

I am going to recite a poem I wrote about the field cricket in my group's puppet show.  The other members are a puffin, a Mexican free-tailed bat, and a red-tailed hawk.  They are each going to recite a poem as well, but the show will end with the Hawk doing a rap, which will be a lot of fun.  I think all of these animals have some pretty interesting traits, and I am very excited for the puppet show.

Winter break was a lot of fun for me. I had a great Christmas, and got lots of great gifts from my friends and family.  I had a great time with my family, and it would have been great even if there were no presents, as usual.  Christmas is my birthday, so I get all my presents in one day. It is really cool to have my birthday on Christmas, and I don't really mind it.  This year we  just stayed home and had Christmas, so it was pretty laid back, but still a great day.

The day after Christmas my family left on a road trip to Arkansas.  My grandparents live in northwest Arkansas in a small town called Bella Vista.  The trip was about 28 hours and we only stopped for the restroom and gas.  So we drove all night long, and I was up most of the night, and then I couldn't sleep the next day.  I was extremely tired.  When we finally got there late the next night I got to sleep though, and the day after that we went to an art museum.  The museum was really cool and it was in a forest, so it was also really pretty. That day it snowed too so it was that much more beautiful.  We were in Arkansas for awhile, and left the day after new years.  New Years eve was lot of fun, and so was the next day.  I had a great time in Arkansas and it was hard to leave.  Overall winter break was really fun.

If I could make an invention that would help mankind I would create a remote that would have a button for many different types of things that you need to do, but don't want to do them.  This would include things like shutting your bedroom door at night when you forget to, but don't want to get back out of bed, lock up all your doors at night, preheat your oven, open and shut windows and blinds, turn on the sprinklers, and other things like that.  This would be very useful to many people because they would be able to do other more important things, instead of having to tend to all the simple, but necessary things.  Of course, the purpose of this invention would not just be to make people more lazy, even though some people would use it for that.  I would build it so that people can get simple household things done faster so they can have time for other things that are important, or for elderly people that can't do those things by themselves.  So that is the invention I would make to help people.

Today I have to be creative because I cannot think of anything to blog about, so I decided to write about what I would do if I had three wishes.  First I would have an infinite amount of money money so I could have a nice house, car, overall just life, etc. Also if I had an infinite amount of money, I could get this country out of debt and we could be awesome again, as well as give billions of dollars to charities around the world.  I mean, if I had all of the money in the world I could do anything.  Well the only problem with that would be that money would not be worth anything anymore.  The next thing I would wish for is to be in the Olympics when I am older.  That would be the greatest thing ever, and it has been a dream of mine for a long time.  Finally my last wish would be for more wishes of course.  Then I could wish for more and end up with as many wishes as I want.  So these are the things I would wish for if I had three wishes.

Yesterday was our last regular season water polo match.  We played at Central East High School against Central. We have already played against this team twice and lost both times.  The first time we played them, we brought the entire team and had to split the playing time between everyone on the eighth and seventh grade teams.  This did not work out very well and we lost by a lot.  Then we played them again during our tournament and the seventh and eighth grade teams were split up, so us seventh graders were all alone, plus we only had one sub during the whole match.  So we lost again, but we did pretty well if you consider our circumstances.  So yesterday we brought fifteen people from the team so that there were not too many people.  We did very well and played much better in many ways, but sadly we still lost.  It was a good match though, and we didn't lose by as much as we have before.  I had a lot of fun during this season, and I am glad that I decided to try out this new sport.  I can't wait until next season and swim season in the spring!

This week was red ribbon week at our school.  Throughout the week there were different things that we did to promote being drug free.  On Monday we could wear our favorite pair of sweats to school which was fun.  Then on Tuesday was bright colors day, but sadly I couldn't participate because I don't have any bright shirts that are solid.  Then next was my favorite day of this week.  It was wacky clothes day so we could almost wear anything we wanted!  I wore an unbottoned red and black plaid flannel shirt, and a pink and purple t-shirt under that.  Also, I wore blue running shorts and two idfferent socks.  One was knee- high and red, and the other was fluffly and purple with white polka dots.  This day was definitely a lot of fun. Then Thursday was crazy hair day which I didn't participate in, but it was still fun to see what everyone else did.  Lastly Fridya was jersey day, and I wore a sweatshirt for my favorite college, Stanford University.  Red ribbon week was a loot of fun, and i hope people thought it was fun, but also got the message of being drug free form it as well.

Last weeek the first quarter of school ended.  It was a hard quarter, but somehow I got through it.  The Zion field trip was at the end of the quarter and when I got back there was a lot of work to be done.  There were also a lot of hard tests, but I was able to do all right with a few late nights, retakes of tests, a couple of assignments that got postponed, and course plenty of support and help from my parents.  That is how I was able to get straight A's on my report card.  Now we are in the second quarter and i'm sure that this quarter will be even harder than the first.  To achieve my goal of getting straight A's again , I will have to do better at managing my time, studying harder for tests, and over all just working harder.  So this is my goal for second quarter and for the whole year.

On Tuesday, we had a water polo game at  Clark Middle School in Clovis. They were really good and all of our teams lost but, but we played well.  The seventh grade boys lost thirteen to seven, but I was happy to have scored five of those seven.  It was my best game ever and I was proud of myself, but I was also proud of my team because we all played better than usual.  The seventh grade boys team record is two wins and two losses, but that is better than any other computech team, ever so we are doing very well considering that we play against peolpe who have been swimming their whole lives.  I am excited for our next game and the rest of the season.  Wish us luck!
